Scalp Psoriasis Symptoms and Treatment
The symptoms of scalp psoriasis can be similar to dandruff with itching and flaking scalp…
So when you get psoriasis on the scalp, it’s easy to think it might be a bad case of dandruff. Scalp psoriasis can occur on parts of your scalp or on the whole scalp. (Psoriasis can also occur on any other part of the body.)
Symptoms may show a redness beyond the hairline; these red patches associated with scalp psoriasis are often covered by scale-like areas of dead skin. In extreme cases, it can cause hair loss

Scalp psoriasis can be difficult to treat. Many treatments suggest using a medicated shampoo, but it is important to talk with your trichologist about how you normally care for your scalp including how frequently you wash your hair. This is important to determine the correct treatment in each case.
Scalp Psoriasis Treatment
Here at the Eucaderm Clinic we always suggest using a natural product for any treatment. We have found this has the best outcome for the patient. As well as using the correct natural shampoo and conditioner it is important to treat the whole patient, and we would also suggest the TN25 Live Enzyme and Vitamin food supplement.
Many of the clients I have seen with Psoriasis think they have dandruff, and to that effect, shampoo their hair once a week and wonder why it doesn’t show signs of improvement. When you think that a skin cell normally takes roughly six days to become the epidermis in a normal healthy scalp, but yet in Psoriasis a skin cell works its way from the subcutaneous tissue** to the epidermis in about six hours or even quicker.
Success or Failure?
I have had some successes and some failures. This is because the client has basically got fed up with having to do the treatment daily, which is what is needed. Shampoo alone is not enough. What you need is a light medicated balm which is applied to the scalp, and the balm gently dissolves the hard skin cells. This balm is included in my Home Care Treatment Pack No 3.
When the scale is removed, the underlying scalp is often red and angry looking. The scalp starts to scale up again and the client has to repeat the process. Then eventually the skin heals and the client is free from the psoriasis.

There is also a diet which was researched by some German doctors which also greatly assists in the recovery.
